3 Simple Ways You Can Do To Tweak Your FB Ad campaign To Lower CPC

Have you ever experienced that you are out of targeting option to test your ad?
Or just simply want to lower your cpc?

Here are some tips that can help you to get an Idea how to tweak your ad to lower cpc without putting much effort on researching your audience
but this tips will only work when you have already have existing or a running campaign.
This won’t work if you’re just starting out.

WARNING: The result may vary depending on your audience and you still need to test it out. (more of this later)
You may already know this method too:)

You may not notice it but it’s there.
There are 3 ways to optimize your existing ad just by changing
Age: 18-65+
Gender: All, Men or Women
and Placement: Desktop or Mobile 🙂

So the question is how will you know which one you will specifically use.

From this stats you can already tell which one will cost you less in terms of gender . This way you now have an option to target Women.

As you can see below the Age range that has low cost is from 25-34.

That’s the 3 ways  you can use and make your cpc lower.

I have done this method and it works but I still need to test it out.

I have run a campaign the targeted both gender, but decided to test out which gender will make a lower cpc

So I run a campaign separating Men and Women, same age range, same location and interest.

The result was this.

Based on the result I can have lower cpc from Women, so I made another 2 adsets  to test the Age range

With this results I can focus my campaign with the one with the lower CPC.

How to link Unbounce to Benchmarkemail

If you’re not familiar with these tools let me explain briefly.
Unbounce is a landing page where your opt-in/email catcher is embed.
Benchmarkemail is an email marketing tool that you can use to store your emails, create autoresponder, send email broadcast etc.

So the purpose of linking your Unbounce to Benchmark is to store the emails you have collected through your opt-in.
You can also set up autoresponder if you’re giving them some free stuffs.

OK first you must have a Benchmark account and an existing email list to make this happen.

Log in to your Benchmark account.

Click the Envelope Image

You’ll be directed to the Dashboard

Click Create new list

Name your contact list

Click Save & Add contacts

Click Choose file and select your existing contact list. Format should be .csv, .xls and .txt

And then click Save & Next at the bottom right.

Just Fill up this 2 option and click Save and Next

Now after that

Hover your mouse on your name and menus will be automatically shown.

Then click Integration

Select a list, this is the one we made earlier and a URL will show at the box below.

Copy the URL and open your landing page in Unbounce.

Look for the “Webhook: POST to URL”

Paste the URL on the box and click Save and Continue.

That’s it! You have integrated your Unbounce to your Benchmark.

How to set up the FB pixel

Using Power Editor in Facebook for your Ads allows your to track your leads.
You can use it to know if the action made by your prospects or customers are successful.
Here are some steps in setting up and where you can put your Facebook Pixels.

On your Power Editor click Create Pixel

Then choose your category this will depend on what is your campaigns goal.

But with this example we’ll use Leads.

Name your FB Pixel

It will tell you that the Pixel isn’t verified yet. So click Verify.

How to create Facebook custom audience

Creating custom audience is use for re-targeting.
This can’t be done unless you already have a list of your audience like emails, ID’s, or phone number that match people in Facebook.
Let’s begin.

Inside your Ads Manager click “Audiences”

Then click Create a Custom Audience

Click Customer list

Select which one’s for you, as for me I’m uploading my emails list so I select the first one.

File format should be .CSV or .TXT format

Click the Upload File button

Then click Create Audience

In here you can edit the file by clicking to it or just click Next

And just click Done

And you will see this

It usually take about 10 mins for Facebook to make it ready and available.

Your list should be 100.

And there you have your custom audience that you can use to re-target your audience.

Building my custom audience

I decided to create an Ad to create my audience and target it for my affiliate link.
I have used the image and the headline of one of may successful ads which gives 94 leads.
My main goal for this ad is to create audience using WCA.

My Challenge Ad

This is my challenge ad, it means just little changes from the original ad.
This would be my 4th FB ad.
You may not notice it much but I make the text much larger compared to the previous one.

Since this is a challenge ad, I’ve used same audience.
I’ve targeted specific city in the Philippines, together with other countries like Saudi Arabia, Singapore and Dubai, I also choose “All” for the gender and age range of 18-40.

With just a little changes in the text on the image, this ad have generated 29 Leads, a nearly 4x more than the original ad.
Total spent on this ad was ₱46.98($1.07), way more cheaper than the previous one.
Ad was run for 4 days.

My second FB ad.

As you can see the image is the same as the first ad but now with a different text, by the way the image has no text and it’s part of the testing.  I add “Is there” and making the headline a question rather than a sentence. And at the third line text, I’ve wrote “Yes” to affirm that there is hope.

I have change the location from “Philippines” to specific city in the Philippines. Also change the age making it 21-35, then add some interest.
